I've been in love with Stephanie Plum's world since One For The Money。 Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight did not disappoint! I do feel like it wasn't a normal Stephanie Plum novel it certainly had a different feel to it。 Not in a bad way though。 I would have liked a bit more Ranger in (drool) it but it had a lot of Diesel so I guess it evened out。 In this installment we see Stephanie step into the world of computer hacking which is rather out of her comfort zone。 She helped rescue two hackers from I've been in love with Stephanie Plum's world since One For The Money。 Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight did not disappoint! I do feel like it wasn't a normal Stephanie Plum novel it certainly had a different feel to it。 Not in a bad way though。 I would have liked a bit more Ranger in (drool) it but it had a lot of Diesel so I guess it evened out。 In this installment we see Stephanie step into the world of computer hacking which is rather out of her comfort zone。 She helped rescue two hackers from a formidable mega hacker that was out to kill them。 In true Stephanie fashion this means she nearly gets herself (and Lula) killed in the process。 Oh and let's not forget the cars that get blown up as well! There were tense moments, hilarious moments, and we even get some serious moments from Stephanie's mom。 I feel like Stephanie grew a bit during this journey and I was happy to be along for the ride。 The ending was certainly not one I saw coming at all! I love being surprised and this series always seems to know how to drop some big ones。 I always recommend this series to anyone looking to start reading something new and I will never stop doing so。 If you're a die-hard Stephanie Plum fan like me this is an absolute MUST read!Shout out to Goodreads and their giveaway for giving me the opportunity to receive an advanced copy of this novel from my favorite series! 。。。more

Diesel's back。 But how can Stephanie keep getting into trouble。 She doesn't have to look for it, it finds her。 Two cars destroyed in one day! Getting shot at! Of course Lula, Ranger and Morelli are all in the mix。 And Vinnie even gets into the action。 Another hilarious story from the master of humor。 Thank you to Simon and Shuster for the ARC。 Diesel's back。 But how can Stephanie keep getting into trouble。 She doesn't have to look for it, it finds her。 Two cars destroyed in one day! When the Stephanie Plum series was first introduced many years ago, I was a huge fan and would read each new one as soon as I could get my hands on them。 Somewhere along the line though I stopped reading them。 I’m not sure why。 Perhaps my taste had changed whereas Stephanie Plum novels did not。 However, when I had the opportunity to claim an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of the latest book in the series, I jumped at it! And for good and bad, the series has not changed that much。 It’s okay that I ha When the Stephanie Plum series was first introduced many years ago, I was a huge fan and would read each new one as soon as I could get my hands on them。 Somewhere along the line though I stopped reading them。 I’m not sure why。 Perhaps my taste had changed whereas Stephanie Plum novels did not。 However, when I had the opportunity to claim an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of the latest book in the series, I jumped at it! And for good and bad, the series has not changed that much。 It’s okay that I had not read any of the series in more than a decade。 Team Evanovich ensures that each book can stand on its own, subtly and at times not so subtly providing the backdrop for each character, including Stephanie’s many love interests。 The books are comforting and charming。 Stephanie’s still a strong career woman who doesn’t feel the need to get married, yet still enjoys a man or two in her life。 There’s a wacky sidekick and the crazy grandma。 And of course the central mystery that drives the plot of the book – here, it’s computer hacking。 It was a nice comfortable read。 Fans who have stuck with the series will like it。 Fans of not quite cozy, but not too violent mysteries will probably enjoy it too。 I’m glad I read it, but I’m not ready to jump into another one in the series quite yet。 3/5 。。。more

Game On is the latest installment of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series。 In this 28th book of the series, Stephanie, an inept bounty hunter, is in pursuit of an insane and dangerous computer hacker。 As is typical of this series, it is fast-paced with plenty of action and humor。 Fans of the series will not be disappointed as all of their favorite characters are present and as wacky as ever。 This is a quick and entertaining read。 I have read this entire series and it has always been a favorit Game On is the latest installment of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series。 In this 28th book of the series, Stephanie, an inept bounty hunter, is in pursuit of an insane and dangerous computer hacker。 As is typical of this series, it is fast-paced with plenty of action and humor。 Fans of the series will not be disappointed as all of their favorite characters are present and as wacky as ever。 This is a quick and entertaining read。 I have read this entire series and it has always been a favorite。 However, in recent years, I have not enjoyed them as much。 Game On was an exception。 It is not as good as her early ones, but it is moving in the right direction。 That being said, I will always read the latest Stephanie Plum book。 Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced review copy in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

As a long time fan of Stephanie Plum I was thrilled to be able to read Game On。 As per normal Stephanie fashion, any attempts to apprehend a suspect end in hilarious fashion and at least one or two exploding cars。 I always love when Diesel shows up to break the tie between team Morelli and team Ranger。 I am still team Ranger all the way but Diesel has a very significant role in this specific book。 Tied up neatly with a bow, life in the berg is back to somewhat normal at the end。 Looking forward As a long time fan of Stephanie Plum I was thrilled to be able to read Game On。 As per normal Stephanie fashion, any attempts to apprehend a suspect end in hilarious fashion and at least one or two exploding cars。 I always love when Diesel shows up to break the tie between team Morelli and team Ranger。 I am still team Ranger all the way but Diesel has a very significant role in this specific book。 Tied up neatly with a bow, life in the berg is back to somewhat normal at the end。 Looking forward to the next book as always and a new series by the author。Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

In true Janet Evanovich fashion, Stephanie Plum's life as a bounty hunter combines drama, action, and the typical mishaps that characterize her career。 Add her boyfriend, Italian cop Joe Morello, and mysterious security expert, Ranger, into the mix and things get really hot。 When Diesel shows up to work on the same cybercrime case, juggling the attention of the three while trying to keep the few hackers she has left alive becomes a full time job。 While part of a series, Game On, can stand fully In true Janet Evanovich fashion, Stephanie Plum's life as a bounty hunter combines drama, action, and the typical mishaps that characterize her career。 Add her boyfriend, Italian cop Joe Morello, and mysterious security expert, Ranger, into the mix and things get really hot。 When Diesel shows up to work on the same cybercrime case, juggling the attention of the three while trying to keep the few hackers she has left alive becomes a full time job。 While part of a series, Game On, can stand fully on its own。 It won't disappoint。 。。。more

Sadly, this is the same old, same old。 I don’t know why I was expecting something different, the formula for this series has been pretty much the same for a while。 The characters seemed a little flat- even Grandma and Lulu。 I think even Janet Evanovich is tired of this series。I was ready to give up the series but than won an Advanced Readers Edition from Goodreads, so decided to read one more。 This is my last。

Stephanie Plum and her situation is brand new to me。 I didn’t feel lost even though this was book 28。 I realized there was going to be a lot of history with this character I would not know because I was just reading the newest novel。 All in all, Stephanie is a likeable gal, I instantly cared about。 I enjoyed getting to know her and the cast of colorful characters, some friends, some co-workers, oh and let’s not forget the boyfriend。Main character Stephanie Plum is a bail bonds enforcement agent。 Stephanie Plum and her situation is brand new to me。 I didn’t feel lost even though this was book 28。 I realized there was going to be a lot of history with this character I would not know because I was just reading the newest novel。 All in all, Stephanie is a likeable gal, I instantly cared about。 I enjoyed getting to know her and the cast of colorful characters, some friends, some co-workers, oh and let’s not forget the boyfriend。Main character Stephanie Plum is a bail bonds enforcement agent。 She convinced her cousin Vinnie into hiring her and has been doing this ever since。 My interest was piqued from the start as Stephanie is in her apartment scared…”I was listening to someone move around in my living room。 My gun was in the brown bear cookie jar…my cell…in the bathroom charging。 I kept my two-pound Mag lite next to my clock and at the moment, it was the closest I could come to a weapon。”After two years of silence, Stephanie’s’ ex Diesal shows up。 Just so happens they are after the same guy named Oswald Wednesday。 Diesel had contacts and information she did not have access to, so she wanted to stay on his good side。 Diesal was one of those guys who said he’d have to kill me if he shared anything。 So, Stephanie keeps her eyes wide open and treads lightly。 She wasn’t sure if Diesel was for her or himself。 She was willing to do most anything to get this bad guy and bring him to justice。 (Almost anything)This is an interesting story, but it’s a genre I don’t normally read because of the profanity, violence (blood, cut out tongues etc。) and sexual references/ talk about being naked, mooning people, etc。 I appreciated that the author's used “what the fork” instead of you know what。 Grin。 I had read a book by the name of, The Bounty by this author and Steve Hamilton。 I enjoyed the adventure and the context of the story。 The Miss Plum novel didn’t give me warm fuzzes and the sense of adventure The Bounty did。 (It was a Fox and O’hare novel。) That novel had less T & A。 I enjoyed the flirting and hints of passion without descriptions of touching etc。 In that book I enjoyed the teamwork the two main characters had, the witty dialogue and the beautiful and fun places the author took readers。There are many funny lines in this novel like this one, “You never know about people…one minute they’re prom queen and then the next thing they are whackadoole。” I most likely won’t be reading any more books in this series, but I look forward to reading more A Fox and O’Hare novels。 Disclosure of Material Connection: I have received a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher through NetGalley。 I was not required to write a positive review。 The opinions I have expressed are my own。 I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising”Nora St。 LaurentTBCN Where Book Fun Begins! The Book Club Network blog www。bookfun。org 。。。more

Stephanie is basically a skip tracer working for a bail bondsman and hunting down those who fail to appear in court。 Her long termer is a police detective, her family (as well as his) is dysFUNctional。 The hot guy who rarely turns up is a private eye (of sorts) and is after the same cybercriminal she is (but for different reasons)。 Said cyber criminal gives a whole new meaning to the term *hacker*。 Every character really is, and this is one of the busiest books I've read in a while。 Fantastic fu Stephanie is basically a skip tracer working for a bail bondsman and hunting down those who fail to appear in court。 Her long termer is a police detective, her family (as well as his) is dysFUNctional。 The hot guy who rarely turns up is a private eye (of sorts) and is after the same cybercriminal she is (but for different reasons)。 Said cyber criminal gives a whole new meaning to the term *hacker*。 Every character really is, and this is one of the busiest books I've read in a while。 Fantastic fun!I requested and received a free ebook copy from Atria Books via NetGalley。 THANK YOU! 。。。more

I always love catching up with Stephanie Plum, Lulu and of course Grandma Mazur。 Given that this is the 28th installment in the series, it is a well oiled machine and follows a similar formula。 While I wish there was a little more changed from book to book, I did still enjoy reading Game On。 It was nice to have Diesel back and I actually was pleased that there wasn’t the extreme waffling between all Steph’s men that previous books have had even though I firmly in team Ranger I just am happy to h I always love catching up with Stephanie Plum, Lulu and of course Grandma Mazur。 Given that this is the 28th installment in the series, it is a well oiled machine and follows a similar formula。 While I wish there was a little more changed from book to book, I did still enjoy reading Game On。 It was nice to have Diesel back and I actually was pleased that there wasn’t the extreme waffling between all Steph’s men that previous books have had even though I firmly in team Ranger I just am happy to have the triangle aspect over and done with。。。 for now at least。 This remains a lighthearted and somewhat silly series, but to me that’s where the fun is in it。 It is an entertaining cozy mystery series that always manages to be a nice break from the dark and twisted books I usually read。 4/5⭐️Thanks to Atria Books for gifting me this ARC。 Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight will be out on November 2。 。。。more

What I LovedSuppose you have never read a book in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich。 In that case, the first thing I love about the series is that it is written with little summaries of relevant events and characters as they appear in each book。 This should make jumping into the series at any point perfectly fine, and I wouldn’t anticipate any issues following along。 But, be warned, once you read and enjoy one, you will want to go back and read them all。One of the first things I notic What I LovedSuppose you have never read a book in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich。 In that case, the first thing I love about the series is that it is written with little summaries of relevant events and characters as they appear in each book。 This should make jumping into the series at any point perfectly fine, and I wouldn’t anticipate any issues following along。 But, be warned, once you read and enjoy one, you will want to go back and read them all。One of the first things I noticed in Game On is a definite shift in tone from the previous books。 That shift in tone is excellent because it reflects a change in Stephanie Plum。 She is growing and changing as a character。 That is refreshing and great to experience。 My only wish in the past was to see some growth in Stephanie because the series had begun to feel a bit stale with the same struggles happening repeatedly。 Hopefully, she will continue to grow and change, even if it is just subtly。I’ve always enjoyed the setting – a small Berg of Trenton, New Jersey。 It’s just small enough to give Stephanie, someone born in raised in the neighborhood, plenty of resources for information。 It also has that homey feel that I can easily relate to and adds bits of lightness and humor throughout the thrilling, action-packed, and often dangerous tale, as Stephanie doesn’t leave any stones unturned- from the gossip chains of her mother and grandmother to the mob connections of the Bail Bonds’ office manager。I love so many things about this series。 Still, one of the last ones I will mention here is that this soft-boiled mystery is full of thrills, spills, and dangerous situations。 The pages literally couldn’t flip faster as I treated my love of thrills and my love of laughter within the same bound package。 The story is dotted with perfectly timed comedic relief through a few larger-than-life characters and repeating events。 Does the humor detract from the thrills? I don’t believe so – they just give me an extra reason to love this series and keep me coming back for each installment。CharactersI’ve already mentioned the main character, Stephanie Plum。 She is a bounty hunter who refuses to carry a gun, so she relies on her uncanny instincts and wit rather than brute force。 Does she sometimes need help because she usually is dealing with evil men? Of course, she does, but that just brings in a host of endearing and quirky characters and lots of fun to read about。 In this novel, Diesel returns。 He is a man of mystery and magic who sometimes comes to Trenton and inevitably crosses paths with Stephanie。 This time they are looking for the same man who is planning something significant with his hacking skills and failed to show for his court appointment。 Who Diesel is or even what he is is unknown, but he always intrigues me because of his mysterious magic。 Reminds Me OfSome books and series remind me of this one, but I’ve never thought in terms of the Stephanie Plum series reminding me of something else。 It came first, so it’s always the series that I hold similar stories up to。What I WishStephanie is still in a state of flux, so I would like to continue to see her grow and change。To Read or Not to ReadIf you love thrills and spills and enjoy a healthy dose of humor, the Stephanie Plum series is waiting for you to pick up just one of the many books in the series。 Once you do, you will find yourself looking for time to read more。 。。。more

Because I'm a loser, I had never read Janet Evanovich until this summer when I read the last book in another one of her series。 So, in keeping with tradition I'm starting, what I hear is her most popular series, at the very end。 Game On is the 28th(!) book in her Stephanie Plum series and it's easy to see why Plum has such longevity。 I had no idea what to expect but I assure you it wasn't what I just read。 I'm not sure I've laughed as much reading as I did with Game On。 It was a total delight。 T Because I'm a loser, I had never read Janet Evanovich until this summer when I read the last book in another one of her series。 So, in keeping with tradition I'm starting, what I hear is her most popular series, at the very end。 Game On is the 28th(!) book in her Stephanie Plum series and it's easy to see why Plum has such longevity。 I had no idea what to expect but I assure you it wasn't what I just read。 I'm not sure I've laughed as much reading as I did with Game On。 It was a total delight。 The story was a good cat-and-mouse thriller with a sadistic computer hacker but the real star of the show are the characters。 Especially Plum's grandma。 My grandmother is a horrible human being, so I long for a grandma like Plum's who is hilarious and loves life。 All the characters are unique, quirky and compliment each other。 They are all dysfunctional in the best way and really propel the story in the down times。 Needless to say, Mrs。 Evanovich has gained a new fan。 Better late than never。My thanks to Mrs。 Evanovich, Atria Books, and NetGalley for the privilege of reading an advance copy of Game On。 。。。more

Stephanie is back with the usual cast of characters。 And Diesel is back still being weirdly magical! Coming off my last Janet Evanovich book, The Bounty which I hated, I was really worried that Evanovich had completely given over all her work to ghost writers who didn't really get her characters。 If this one was ghost written, at least it's really well done!Sure, the villain is over-the-top evil but that's acceptable considering he's being pursued by Diesel and Wulf who have long been establishe Stephanie is back with the usual cast of characters。 And Diesel is back still being weirdly magical!
